Just a Suggestion?

Can a woman have an orgasm without any physical stimulation?

Apparently yes, according to my not-so-scientifc study.

When studying hypnosis in college many years ago, I learned about Dr. Franz Mesmer. He was a German Physician who developed a cult following in Paris around 1780. Mesmer was all the rage in his Parisian heyday, manipulating flows of “animal magnetism” — a term he invented — in his patients.

Scientists of Mesmer’s era were revealing some of the secrets of magnetism. While not very notable today, magnetism was high tech magic in Mesmer’s time. The good doctor claimed to have discovered a flow of human energy within his patients. He would manipulate said energy by strategically placing loadstones, magnets, on his subjects. Then, with the help of incantations and other spooky rituals, Mesmer would cause “convulsions” in his patients.

Convulsions?

Ha! Mesmer’s subjects were primarily women. The convulsions were sexual orgasm. Dr. Franz Friedrich Anton Mesmer became a very popular fellow.

Mesmer’s popular practice was considered a tad bit scandalous at the time. So the good King Louis XVI appointed a scientific commission to determine WTF was going on in ole’ Franz’s parlor. One notable member of the scientific commission was the Ambassador from the American Colonies, now at war with Britain, Benjamin Franklin. Ambassador Franklin, while having a Mesmerizing influence on a few high society ladies himself, was a notable man of science as well.

Franklin and his colleagues on the commission determined that Dr. Mesmer’s results had nothing to do with magnetism, animal or otherwise. The happy convulsions were a result of suggestion.

So there is the origin of the word Mesmerize.

But back to my informal study. Ever since learning Dr Mesmer was successful getting off scores of powdered-haired socialite babes with nary a touch, I’ve been asking women — if circumstance allows — “is it possible for you to have an orgasm without any physical stimulation”?

I’ve lost count, it’s been years. But there have been dozens of women I have felt comfortable enough to ask such an intimate question. All of them have said yes.

So for the gentlemen reading thus far, there’s a little twist for you on the notion of being Mesmerized:)
